Meet the Teacher!

Welcome!

I'm Kathleen Tucker, an art teacher in Alpharetta, Georgia. A graduate from the University of Georgia with a B.F.A. in Art Education, I started my teaching career working in high school for 7 years.

In 2018, I was offered a position at Lake Windward, and jumped at the opportunity to move to elementary. This has given me the chance to help nurture the creativity of my students as we explore the world of art.

Check out my site to join us on our journey!

CREATIVITY WITHIN LIMITS

I feel that an art room pushes students in their creative abilities partially by having them work within some boundaries. Artistic growth doesn't happen by just doing whatever you want, but by applying skills, knowledge, imagination, and innovative thought to a problem. I believe that is how  we foster a fun and engaging learning environment that effectively teaches art appreciation, promotes creativity, and encourages growing independence.
